Volunteers – Dallas

Volunteers are the backbone of the nonprofit world. Without the valuable support of volunteers, nonprofits could not provide the quality of services that are available today. ATC truly appreciates the many volunteers who share their time and talents with us.

Volunteers are needed for many projects such as painting, landscaping and support with special events. Additionally, we often seek professional advice and appreciate having a list of people we can call upon for insight, advice or direction on a project.

VNA Meals on Wheels
Extraordinary Volunteers Make a Difference

VNA Meals on Wheels is both rewarding and challenging for volunteers. Program participants at the Autism Treatment Center (ATC) deliver meals to homebound seniors.

Three time a week, ATC staff and several participants, aged 22 to 62, deliver hot meals to homebound seniors in Garland. Some participants are deaf or blind, but each takes their turn delivering meals and spending a few moments with their friendly clients.

"Our meal recipients enjoy seeing the ATC group each week," says Betsy Cox, VNA's Director of Volunteers. "Plus it helps these extraordinary volunteers gain job experience, improve their self-esteem, and meet new friends."

VNA thanks everyone from the ATC for their efforts to ensure that no senior in Garland goes hungry.
