Screenings for Autism
ATCRA and its staff promote best practices and offer research-based treatment and therapy individualized to each patient. ATCRA facilitates the development and functional use of communication and social skills for individuals with autism spectrum disorders by providing assessment, OT, PT, ST, diagnostics and screening services.
All services are designed and implemented by licensed specialists who have experience and training working with individuals with autism and related disorders.
Therapy sessions typically range from 30 minutes to 1 hour, and individuals may receive therapy 2-5 times per week. Intensity of treatment is based on the individual’s needs and therapy schedules are coordinated for the specific needs of each patient and family.

Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy at ATCRA provides comprehensive diagnostic services to pediatrics and adults referred for a possible dysfunction in the areas of fine motor development, orthopedic abnormality, or neurological deficits. With physician referral and approval, treatment plans are implemented to address deficits identified in any, or all of these areas. Goals are set to move the individual toward his or her maximum level of independence and /or function.

Physical therapy at ATCRA includes comprehensive diagnostic services to pediatrics and adults referred for a possible dysfunction in the areas of gross motor development, orthopedic abnormality, or neurological deficits. With physician referral and approval, treatment plans are implemented to address deficits identified in any, or all of these areas, including sensory motor processing. Goals are set to move the individual toward his or her maximum level of independence and/or function.
Speech Therapy

Speech therapy services at ATCRA include comprehensive diagnostic services to patients referred for a possible speech, language, fluency, hearing, and/or feeding/swallowing disorder. Treatment plans are implemented with physician referral and approval to communication barriers and enable each individual to reach his or her maximum level of independence. Diagnostic assessments are also provided for alternative and augmentative communication to determine the necessity of a device & the most appropriate device for each individual.
Diagnostics
Diagnostics involves the use of various tests, observations, interviews, and review of the individual’s and family history to rule out or diagnose autism.
Quarterly Screenings for Autism
Screening involves a brief interview and observation of the child to determine if the child has markers for autism and is need of early intervention services. ATCRA provides screenings at quarterly intervals throughout the year for toddlers ages 18 – 24 months of age. The Checklist of Autism in Toddlers (CHAT) is a tool for early childhood screening.
ATCRA serves the North Texas area.
Hours of operation are Monday – Thursday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, with the last therapy session offered at 3:30 pm. We are open on Fridays from 8:00 am – noon for makeup sessions and evaluations.
